Stroopwafels Batch 13 Nov 09

My New Stocks arrived last week :)

Purchase any Combinations of 3s and get a discount of RM10 off*! (excluding Kanjers Duo Packets)
Purchase 3 rolls Originals (RM78 after discount) and save RM12!

1. Stroopwafel in a Tin. Really nice tin with Dutch Inspired images. 10 pieces of Stroopwafels in a Tin. Perfect as gifts. RM45/Tin

2. Original Stroopwafels. Gooey Caramel will appear sandwiched in between two light wafels if you gently put it over the mouth of a cup of hot beverage. 3 inch diameter rounds. RM30 / roll of 10 pcs OUT OF STOCK!

3. Jumbo sized Original Stroopwafels by a different brand. Slightly creamier taste due to higher % cream in butter used for this brand. 3.5 inch diameter rounds. RM35/roll of 10 pieces

3. Honey Stroopwafels. One of my personal favourites as this is best eaten with a hot cup of tea. I usually eat these with a steaming cup of Earl Grey Tea but I do eat these on its own too. Yummy! RM35/Roll of 10 pcs

4. Fruit Stroopwafels. Instead of caramel or honey, you'll get a jammy mixture of passionfruit and apricots in this pack of stroopwafels. This is not as sweet as the conventional stroopwafels and I can eat these on its own. However, it'd taste even better if it was warmed over a cup of hot beverage such as hot tea, coffee or milk. RM35/8 pcs in a pack. 3.5 inch diameter rounds.

5.) As each duo pack is opened, you can see and sniff its freshness. The golden brown wafel with the gooey caramel syrup oozing out slightly from within. This packet is great for tasting if you do not wish to fork out too much money and is easy to carry around. RM6 / duo pack. Introductory Price for people who want to taste stroopwafels! Original price after this batch will be RM9.50 per duo packet!

The stroopwafels keep up to a year in the freezer. If you store in the freezer and want to eat, best way to defrost is to take out from freezer and put in your fridge for a few hours. That way, it won't turn too soggy if compare that you take out from freezer to room temperature.

Kanjers Stroopwafels

Last weekend, I couldn't resist the temptation and decided to try the Kanjers Stroopwafels after being so curious as to why the Hollandse Club in Singapore is selling 2 pieces at SGD6!

This is the regular sized Kanjers Stroopwafels Duopack. I always wondered what was duopack till I opened this packet and found that there are 4 individual packs of 2 pieces stroopwafels each in.

A handy pack of 2s that you can carry around.

Wow...the golden brown color of the Stroopwafel encased in a sealed packet. The wafel is still crisp.

Hunny heating up the stroopwafel over his cup of Sumatra Single Origin Bean Coffee from Coffee Ritual at Sec 14, PJ. Heating it to further liquidise the gooey caramel in between the wafels.

Sorry...we forgot to snap the photos of the after effect as we were both gobbling the delicious stroopwafel...no wonder SG is selling this particular brand so expensive. Fret not, If I do bring this brand in, I will not sell as expensive as Singapore.

Can you spot the ingredients in English? Concentrated Butter....yums! kekekeke..so sinful...!!

My Yummy Dutch Stash

Today my stash of Dutch Goodies arrived via UPS (3 days instead of my usual 2 weeks wait)...all 17kgs of Yum Yum stuff~~~.....

These are StroopKroken. I think it's cookies with a Stroop (Spiced Caramel Syrup) filling in between.

These are fruit filled Stroopwafels. I wondet how it tastes like. It contains Peach, Apricot as well as Passionfruit.

My favorite type of stroopwafels...the Honey filled stroopwafels. Yummy. I haven't tasted this brand before - Albert Hejin (a popular retail brand in Netherlands).

This is so far my favourite Honey Stroopwafels by Vess Banket. They are not as sweet as the original ones and are less chewy...more "bite" to them. I can eat a whole 3.5 diameter piece and still wish for more.

These Jumbo Originals fit nicely into Coffee Ritual's cups without falling in. They contain more butter than the 1st batch (Bakkerjoop) that I brought in and tastes much richer and chewier and not too sweet either according to my Hunny.

Kanjers seem to be a popular brand when I do a google search. They are also one of the most expensive stroopwafels in online sites. These are mini Stroopwafels in a paper carton. I wonder what they taste like....

In the box are 6 individual packs of 2 mini stroopwafels each.

These are the regular sized Kanjers stroopwafels.

These minis are by Albert Hejin. Will taste and ledt you know later how they fare.

This is by Daelman's for Mini stroopwafels. It's another popular brand and they are better known for their stroopwafels in a tin.

Mini Stroopwafels by Vess Banket.

Daelman's Stroopwafels in a Tin Can. A very authentic Dutch Gift.

Dutch peanut butter is unlike our usual peanut butters here in Malaysia. Apparently, the peanut butter is more fragrant and has little sugar added to them.

These are also another Dutch traditional snack of Speculaas which are also known as spiced biscuits. Best enjoyed with tea or coffee.

Brinta is a type of Breakfast porridge. I will taste it and review it later.

Overseas coffee are roasted on its own or sugar with wood chips. Hence they are not as fragrant as our Malaysia's local coffee. The enterprising Dutch came up with a coffee flavour enhancer called Buisman Royal Aroma. Will get Hunny to try it with his coffee next weekend.

Look at my stash of Stroopwafels. Some I ordered only 1 each to taste as sample whilst others I ordered in 6s or 12s. I am selling these yummies...please do see my sales page here. You can order your stocks here or joining in as a member in that forum. Stocks are limited! Keeps well in room temperature for 2 to 3 months and up to 1 year in the freezer.

These are the ones that I'll be tasting before deciding to bring any in.

Do check out here for my selling thread. Yes! I am selling most of these goodies!
